On va aller vers un nouveau passeport avec plus de pages, plus de sécurité et une durée de validité qui va passer de 5 à 10 ans », explique, au bout du fil, Moïse Sarr.
Le secrétaire d’Etat aux Sénégalais de l’extérieur d’ajouter : « Les services compétents à savoir ceux du ministère des Finances vont déterminer, avec l’arbitrage du chef de l’Etat, le prix à payer pour ce nouveau passeport. Mais pour le moment, il faut retenir que le chef de l’Etat a entendu les préoccupations des compatriotes notamment ceux de la diaspora, -parce que c’est une préoccupation exprimée depuis un certain temps-, et a instruit son ministre de l’Intérieur d’engager cette grande réforme du passeport sénégalais à l’instar de beaucoup de pays qui ont une forte communauté à l’étranger. Et nous pensons qu’avec cette réforme à laquelle va s’ajouter l’augmentation des valises mobiles dans les missions diplomatiques et consulaires, l’ouverture prochaine de centres satellites et centres de production dans nos consulats et ambassades, la lancinante question de l’établissement et de renouvellement des passeports dans la diaspora connaîtra un règlement durable voir définitif ».
A en croire Moïse Sarr toujours, « La réforme est engagée. Des réunions ont été tenues et j’ai eu à m’entretenir avec le ministre de l’Intérieur qui mesure l’urgence qui entoure cette réforme qu’il va engager sans délai », conclut-il.
